Hello, I am Charlotte.
Former recruiter, lifelong note taker, quietly obsessed with what actually makes people successful. I write the way I talk: honestly, and without the polish.
Who I am
I am 31, I live in Manchester, and I spent seven years as a headhunter placing senior people into finance and tech roles across the UK. That job gave me an unusual seat: I interviewed hundreds of genuinely successful people and asked them, over and over, how they got there. The answers were far less impressive and far more useful than I expected.
Habits of Successful People is where I write all of that down. Routines, money habits, the way high achievers handle their time and their relationships, and the parts of a comfortable life that nobody puts on Instagram. I write about the luxury and sugar dating world too, because a lot of my readers move in it and there is very little honest writing about how it actually works.
How this started
It started with a notebook. After every interview I would jot down one thing the candidate said that stuck with me. A managing director who blocked out Friday afternoons and refused to fill them. A founder who wrote her salary expectation on her hand before a negotiation so she could not talk herself down. A partner at a law firm who told me his single best decision was learning to say the number and then stay quiet.
Three years and about forty notebooks later, I realised the patterns were more valuable than any individual story. So I left recruitment, started writing, and never looked back. Everything here comes from that same place: real people, real habits, no motivational filler.
What to expect here
I write in the first person, with specific examples and things you can actually try this week. No vague advice, no recycled listicles, and no pretending that success is only about discipline when access, money and confidence all play their part.
- Daily routines and focus habits that hold up in real life
- Money conversations most people avoid, including how to ask for more
- Meeting and dating successful partners without losing yourself
- Etiquette, presence and confidence for rooms you were not born into
